Cavan Urban Fest is a youth-driven urban culture project developed to support creative expression and community engagement across multiple street disciplines. What began as a small-scale initiative gradually evolved into a large urban festival format, reflecting the growing interest in hip-hop culture, street sports, and independent creative scenes in Azerbaijan.
The project combines key elements of urban culture, including hip-hop music, rap performances, DJing, MCing, beatboxing, graffiti, street dance, skateboarding, and basketball 3x3. Rather than focusing on a single discipline, Cavan Urban Fest was designed as an open platform where different forms of street culture could coexist and interact.
Over time, the festival expanded in scale and ambition, moving from cultural spaces such as YARAT Contemporary Art Center to large venues including EGP Arena at European Games Park. Each edition strengthened the connection between young artists, performers, athletes, and audiences, turning the festival into a meeting point for emerging urban communities.
Cavan Urban Fest was created and fully organized by MVP Sports & Events in collaboration with UrbanArtAzerbaijan. The project demonstrates how long-term cultural initiatives can grow organically when built around authenticity, youth participation, and local creative energy.
